Governance
The Caesars Foundation of Floyd County is managed by a Board of Directors. The Board is made up of members from Floyd County government, including the Mayor and at least one Commissioner, two members of the County Council, and representatives of Caesars Indiana. The Board meets once a month to discuss regular business. Members serve a term of one year, but may be re-elected for successive terms. The Board makes all of the final decisions regarding the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County.
Several committees have been established to assist the Board with their work.
The Grants Committee is charged with screening grants submitted by Floyd County non-profits twice a year and recommending grant funding to the Foundation's Board of Directors. The committee also assists in publicizing the work of the foundation and the grants program and encourages organizations to apply for funds. Members commit to a one-year, renewable membership on the committee. Meetings for each cycle are scheduled in advance and generally consist of six meetings. Members go through an orientation to the grant process with the Executive Director. Members are accountable to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors of the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County.
The Investment Committee is charged by the Board of Directors to monitor and direct the investment management of the Foundation. The committee is authorized to delegate certain responsibilities to professionals in various fields. Members commit to a one year, renewable membership on the committee. Meetings are scheduled in advance and generally consist of four to six meetings a year. Members are accountable to the Board of Directors of the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County. The Board Treasurer and CFO of Caesars Indiana are members of the Investment Committee.
